Hey Readers, I know a lot of things are going around in the world. With COVID-19 in effect all of us are facing lock-down.
With Lock-down as a necessity we are going to talk about Dos and Don’ts which we can do in lock-down.
In the first week, although it looks like it is a vacation but slowly the confinement starts to grow on you.
Well, do not worry as we all need to get through this together and here are few things which we can do in order to keep ourselves occupied.
Things to Do During Lock-Down
1. Re-connect and Rejuvenate
This is one of the important things which each one of us should realise in current scenario.
This is once in for all opportunity for all of us where we must realise that we need to be mentally relaxed. All our complaints about late working hours, sleep deprivation, no time for family has this as our solution.
Think this time as a pause from all the work load and take this time to rejuvenate our lives with peace and spent some quality time together with family.
2.Trying a New Hobby
Get hold of any new hobby which could add a feather to our cap. You can take up any hobby like art, craft, learning a new language, story writing, book reading, movie watching, cooking. Dedicate just a couple of hours in a week’s time and upgrade your creative skills.
3. Make the most of the Board-games
This is a fun thing to do. Get all your board games out of your closets and get your family and friends spent time on them. It is both going to be refreshing, engaging and fun.
4. Redecorate your Homes
Yes that is correct. A regular arrangement of your rooms could be monotonous to the eyes. And now that you have plenty of time in your hands, redecorate the things in your house. Shift your sofas to a different position. Move your cupboards and your TV Sets to a different corner.
5. Binge Watch
Well this goes without any effort. In this digital age, we are always finding excuses to do Binge Watch and nobody thought that lockdown would be blessing in disguise.
6. Take Care of Yourselves
So all those who were waiting for having time for themselves so that they can do all kinds of experiments. Experiments in relation to getting into shape, skin care, hair care remedies and being all creative without anyone complaining that we are wasting our time unnecessary.
So, pull all your remedy books and get hold of new types of exercises which you always wanted to try but were waiting to give some time on yourselves.
7. Take Up Free Courses
So guys, this is one of the most productive measures which we can take in our to develop our professional lives in this time frame.
There are various platforms like Hubspot, Coursera , Moz, Ahref and many more where you can take up new courses as per your choices. As COVID-19 is on global level so all the major platforms have made some of the most joined courses as free till May 31st.
Like , on a personal level I am currently doing some of the Online Training on Moz Platform where the most expensive courses are free for now.
So guys, this is once in a lifetime opportunity where one could make the most out of the lock-down.
8. Resume Revisiting
Referring to the above point, you can enhance your resume. Put down all the various training and certificates which are done and enhance your resume in this lock-down.
It would tell two things about you:
a) You are always looking to improve yourself.
b) You can make the most out of any situation.
Thus, guys we saw how can we engage ourselves during this lock-down time. Now let us see what are the things which we should not do during lock-down.
Things Not to Do During Lock-Down
1. A lot of Binge Watch
We know this is like a golden opportunity, but I would suggest do not overdo. Keep a time slot and try and stick to it.
2. Not contributing in Household Works.
These times require everyone to stay indoors even for the domestic help people. So try and help each other rather than putting up all the work with only one person in the family.
Also, mothers should be learning to delegate work to their household people rather than trying and doing everything by themselves. It is no longer a single track. Today we all believe in “Share The Load” motto and everyone should abide by it.
3. Sleeping whole Day
Do not oversleep guys as it would not only impact your health cycle, but it would disturb the whole environment of home as well. So , Contribute in household work and also take time for your family.
4. Being on Phone the Whole Day
It is a good time to reconnect with everyone, but one must keep track of time as well. It should not be like whole day we are on our phone and the day goes by without doing anything.
5. Taking Work From Home granted
Now, this is a bit off the track, but people do not thing that WFH (Work From Home) means only working and no play. Make time for both your work and for re-connection. A re-connection during this time is also necessary. It is necessary with your family yourself and with your friends.
6. Consumption Check
These days it is a struggle to get everyday groceries at one go. So, It is mandatory for all of us to plan our consumption requirement. In a global issue, everyone is responsible for its own actions. These days, whenever I am visiting any supermarket, I see that people start panic buying. We should understand that even though government had allowed necessary ration and availability of necessary groceries, we must understand the consumption and input of it. It would be little by an extreme level help for both government and the people of the society. So people try :- “Take Some Not All”.
So, guys these were some of the Dos and Don’ts which you can do during COVID-19.
Do let me know what else comes to your mind which all of us can do from our end in the comment box below.
